May CalFresh Awareness Month

May CalFresh Awareness Month

Alameda County has celebrated CalFresh Awareness Month each May since 2013 and it is the official month dedicated to increasing awareness of the CalFresh program throughout California. Each year, the State, Alameda County Social Services Agency, Alameda County Community Food Bank, and community-based organizations, are all committed to bringing awareness, dispelling myths, and encouraging eligible residents to apply for CalFresh benefits.

May 2024 CalFresh Awareness Campaign

This year, Alameda County's CalFresh Awareness Month theme is, “Did you know,” and focuses on dispelling false rumors that can mislead and dissuade individuals and families from applying for benefits that they qualify for and need. CalFresh continues to be the largest food program in California and helps recipients access fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods.

See our digital CalFresh Awareness Month flyers in English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Khmer, and Farsi!
