Together, We Give
Together, We Give is a holiday gift-giving program that connects individuals served by the Alameda County Social Services Agency (ACSSA) with staff donors. Families can submit a holiday wish list, and participating ACSSA staff donors may choose to fulfill those wishes.
- Registration opens Monday, October 20th, 2025 through November 2025. Contact your designated ACSSA staff member (e.g., eligibility services technician, social worker, etc.) to register. The assigned ACSSA staff member will input the needed information wish list items, and a preferred gift pick-up site. Please note: wish list items are suggestions only and not guaranteed.
- Donor Matching Begins October 27th, 2025, ACSSA Donors will browse available wish lists and select families/recipients.
- If matched, you will receive an email with details regarding a Gift Pick-Up Event on Friday, December 12. In order to collect your gift(s), you must present your email confirmation.
- Register early for the best chance to be matched with a donor. Please note: spots are not guaranteed and are based on donor availability.
- When registering, please ensure that the designated Gift Pick-Up Event location is accessible to you.
- Verify your contact information so our team can reach you with updates.
- Contact your assigned ACSSA staff member
- Complete the registration form with your assigned ACSSA staff member
- Submit your wish list during registration.
- Wait to be matched with a donor (Note: matching is not guaranteed).
- If matched, you will be provided details about gift pick-up information.

- Can anyone participate in the program?
This program is open to those who receive services and/or benefits from ACSSA. A designated ACSSA staff member will assist with the registration process, including submitting a wish list. Matching with a donor is based on availability. Registration does not guarantee gift selection.
- Can I submit a wish list for multiple household members?
Yes. You may include requests for children and/or other members of your household. We recommend keeping lists modest.
- What kind of items should I request?
Suggested items include clothing, toys, books, small electronics, household essentials, and gift cards. Please keep requests age-appropriate and family-friendly.
- Will the donor’s identity be shared with me?
Not necessarily. Some donors choose to remain anonymous, while others may include a name or message. It’s entirely up to the donor whether they wish to share their identity.
- How will I receive my gift(s)?
If you are matched, ACSSA will notify you. You'll receive an invitation to attend a Gift Pick-Up Event on Friday, December 12th, 2025, at the ACSSA site designated during registration.
- What if I can’t attend the Gift Pick-Up Event?
Please email SSATogetherWeGive@acgov.org immediately.
- Will gifts be wrapped?
Yes. Most gifts will arrive wrapped or bagged and ready to be taken home.
- Is this program free?
Yes! There is no cost to families to participate.
