Advance Child Tax Credit Payments Have Begun - Don't Miss Out!
Advance Child Tax Credit payments will be a game changer for thousands of East Bay families with dependent children. From 7/15/21 through 12/15/21, eligible families can receive advance payments of up to $300 per month for each child age 6 and under and up to $250 per month for each child between the ages of 6 and 17. Households who were not required to file a tax return in 2019 or 2020 and families experiencing homelessness are eligible and may register at the IRS Non-filer Sign-up Tool . Required tax filers who have not yet filed should file their 2020 tax return as soon as possible using the free IRS tax filing website or by contacting their local VITA site. Eligible households that have already filed their 2020 tax returns will receive payments with no further action required.
