Season of Sharing

One-time assistance to help people experiencing an unexpected housing crisis

What is Season of Sharing?

The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund provides temporary assistance to help people living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties. Since 1986, the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund has distributed more than $138 million to help individuals and families in need.

The Chronicle SOS Fund provides annual funding to the Alameda County Social Services Agency to assist eligible households in Alameda County who demonstrate a critical need arising from emergency circumstances beyond their control. The Social Services Agency collaborates with numerous community partner agencies to screen and process applications for assistance.

SOS Recipient Patti Medina

"The Season of Sharing helped me breathe a little easier. It gave us both a break. I'm extremely grateful. I don't know what we would have done with it."
